i still remember you being my reserve.
playing highschool netball - that was THE fun of fun - the adrenaline rush at winning those games.
unbeatable.
i remember all those games you'd take the sidelines, and halfway through i'd signal timeout and let YOU
take the game, and my place because i was just a lazy panting cow.
i remember you smiling at me when we high-fived at switched at the lines.
i remember you having to deal with my crap in practice.
you never took to me till 3rd year, did you babe? - you must have thought i'm Lil Miss Fancy / Stuck-up
in all of her netball get-up trying to boss you reserves around during practice, and games.
it took our mutual/constant lateness to school to bond us (that and the fact that i was terrified of you
after i heard you shouting at your history teach from 1 block away, lah)
remember all those times we had to run around the school compound in full school attire as a
dumb-ass punishment for being just 10 mins late past the bell?
drenched in sweat, you cursing and swearing and me in my damned school prefect tie (biggest laugh
that is, a constantly late school leader) trying to puff out my skirt (not chest, horkay) and having to run
at the same time and still trying to still look 'cool' to annoy the head prefect who finally thought we
were both enjoying ourselves at it and let us run afew more rounds.
those were the days, huh?
babe, that was 11 years ago, no kidding.
Cos' today, you're 26.
Happy birthday Ms. Ssgt.
Happy Birthday Ms. always-late, full of excuses, highly-temperamental, slight-tendency to
lesbianism, always-in-a-rush, gun-by-the-side, handcuffs in place
ANA MEZALI.
(Ja does a hand-on forehead, full p/o salute like you taught her to)
At least you got your teenage (at 16 years of age, you told me this) dream of serving the police
force achieved!!!!
See - i do remember!
ohhhhhhhh i remember something else!!!!
- Thailand again - totally on you this time babe???
Happy Birthday you.
with lots of wishes and constant thoughts.
:)
