we were 3. always 3.
different classes? no problem - either one of us would skip a lecture or tutorial to attend the
'compulsory' lunch sessions at the canteen where we would ogle boys - wait more to the point, discuss
boys who were ogling US :)
different personalities? no problem: they had me, their middle-woman who was always caught in
one of their childish quarrels and then having to sort it out.
different tastes? no problem - it means lesser competition, boys-wise!
different in many ways, the 3 of us were.
but we could have not been any more closer.
they came to my track practices, even running events at school. i went to their dance practices.
i kept her company when she had her final year projects due (i wasn't even in the same year!!).
i kept the other one company smoking outside the school gate.
they both smoked then. i didn't.
they didnt like sports. i was in the school team.
they liked local food, i had to have western.
she liked guys with piercings, the other one liked guys who looked like hindi moviestars.
i liked mine simple.
she dated all the wrong guys all the different times, the other one dated one wrong guyover a long
span of time, and i was almost always never single for more than afew weeks then.
my parents were the younger, 'open' ones. her parents were older, more conservative.
the other's dad was just someone we were afraid of seeing, nevermind even speaking to!
she talks, no wait this one probably shouts all the time, the other one converses, and i laugh.
she cries easily and openly, the other one silently. i never do around them.
i went abroad to work. she became a teacher, and then a wife, and now a mother. the other woman
just finished uni, and is perfecting herself at being an investments specialist (i swear lynda, if you
lose my capital i am soooooooooo going to kill you)
our long awaited get-together.
(which was actually when i was back in july - only i just got these shots of Ned's lah)
considering i am never around much, and they are both busy with their lives, you can imagine
how much this meant to us.
all 3 of us.
no wait, let's make that 4 now.
plus her lil todd.
my godson.
:)
aunty ja, hasan and aunty lynda
yes, having a teacher as a mom - whaddya expect??
the confused school athlete, the iritating goody-two-shoes and the always-late loud hippie dancer. 9 years back.
grown-ups we are now.
and.... Lil H doesn't like the dancer.

i know. can't wait to get you a playmate, too lil one.
gimme a couple of years okay? in the meantime you can have me as your playmate.
