So the Year of the Rat for us started off with lots of seafood, desserts, too-nice-to-eat looking fruit punches and beer-toasts all around.
The crew mess was transformed into a huge buffet spread with many Asian-style cooked dishes, courtesy of Chef Franco and new young Chef Jun. I am not a die-hard fan of Asian cooking myself but my god did last night's dinner whet my apetite to have seconds... and thirds maybe??
After the initial party died down the only half of us were left (the 'cleanup' crew i like to call ourselves)... BlackJack was on the cards. Typical Chinese New Year Eve - some might say, lots of food and then gambling???
I lost all my coins (our biggest bet was EUR 5.00) to the filthy thieving banker VJ (yes, a non-Chinese guy won all the Chineses' money, how ironic!!!).
All in all - I'd say most of us had a rather good time last night. Good food, good fun.
Pictures to follow as I fell asleep as soon as I lost all my coins on the cards last night and have not downloaded them..
Gong Xi Fa Cai to all me Chinois friends in Singapore if you lot are reading this, don't forget to leave aside my Ang Pow to collect when I'm back horrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr..... Also, enjoy the long weekend!!!
