So I've lived almost my entire legal adult life (read: from age 18 onwards) without it,
not such a big effort considering I've spent half of those years NOT being in Singapore,
and the times when I was home on leave, I rarely went out in the daytime, and when evening came,
I had my own chauffeur/s to take care of my travel needs.
:p
In fact, I'd say I even prided myself (somewhat...) in not even needing it.
But then the time has come, and this was one of those moments I had a reality-hit.
I am really now based in Singapore.
I am really now, somewhat MORE Singaporean than before.
(a traitor to my country, I was. lol)
I am really now oh-so-local - I swear all those friendly Singlish-speaking cabbies are a bad influence on me.
(I hear Eddy smirking already)
So there, I've finally today, succumbed to getting myself an EZlink card to supplement my car's
'red'-plate.
(friendly as cabbies may be, my 'tai-tai' status with frequent cabrides for daytime shopping expeditions with Mummy & Mama is definitely draining my current 'student' status pockets!!)
Tsk.
