Am doing a research on the 'Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder'
(yes, such a thing actually exists, thus explaining many uncontrollable boys, lol).
I am looking at 1 of the kids at school having this disorder - he has all the
general characteristics.
Mainly hyperactivity, to an extreme extent, he can't even keep still for
just 30 seconds (and this I have physically timed)......
and gets very worked up when he is in a controlled environment.
Due to this, all of his learning capabilities is affected, since he doesn't
even have any attention span!!!!
Anyway, whilst doing some read-ups, I came across a very hope-inducing
feature story.
Michael Phelps, the very same Michael Phelps that won 8 Olympic gold medals in 7
world record timings at the recent Beijing Olympic Games - GUESS WHAT???
He had this EXACT same disorder when he was younger!!!!!
Now, I haven't seen Lil' ND's moves in the pool yet (now, maybe I should start asking the
Principal to include a swimming activity in the syllabus JUST for lil ND heh),
who knows... in 10 years time he might just be Singapore's own Phelps,!
:p
That feature story brought a smile to my face...
at the end of every tunnel, there is light indeed!!!!
