So the 1st Eid weekend goes by in a mad rush of visiting, guests, cleaning, serving, more guests, more visiting, bright-hued cordial drinks, fried spaghetti-local style, even more brightly-hued kuihs, more visits, more guests, more cleaning, more serving, and the works.
I swear I thought at 1 point I could not see the marble-flooring of my home, since there was no more space to be seen, or sat upon. The smokers conquered the garden corridor, the kids the balcony, the adults were everywhere else. But that was of course, what Eid visiting was all about - mad crowds. I now look forward to see if the upcoming November Rihanna concert could match our Raya turnout. HEH
This week is my farewell to the kids at school, for when I get back from the month-long holiday, its lessons, projects, assignments and more of such-nots for the next 1.5 years. Don't get me wrong, of course I will be around kids (I am afterall studying them, in a way), but not as much anymore, which is a shame. I kinda grew accustomed to seeing them each day. Apart from everything else though, I dread the thought of not seeing Iris. To have her follow me around wherever I go, to the point of waiting outside the teacher's toilet door patiently whilst I purposefully dilly dally inside to see if she would go away and join her class like she should. Even Iris's form teacher is concerned how she would react to my absence. And these last few days, she's been getting even MORE clingy, its like as though she senses my impending departure, without anyone actually telling her about it. hmmmmmmm.
Anyway. Time flies. Here's to the next weekend.
Not that long now.
