34 days to having him home.
so its been a week since I've started the 30min walk-home-from-the-MRT station routine,
the nightly half-hour skips-on-the-rope,
and the dutiful cycle of 50 sit-ups (ok, some evenings i do just about 20).
the early dinners and NO other junk food / suppers thereafter - this was of course, the HARDEST.
and, I've lost nearly 2 kilograms already, so thats good news.
I'm looking at trying to lose at least 5 kilos more over the next month, which could be easier said
than done. but i'll try, coz it gives me a sense of achievement (even with Ajeeb's annoying grins and
remarks), not to mention having that really good feeling each morning. I don't feel so lethargic
anymore in classes, and that's wayyyy cool!
I don't know where all my years of netball (abt 7 years of it) and track & field (thats 9 years of it)
have gone to.
In the past I thought that track & field would be my life, and that I would run and run and run
and jump and jump and jump (and keep em trophies and medals till I can make my own room of
museum collection and pass them down to my kids and grandkids as family heirloom) even when I'm
married with 5 kids, but once I finished school, that plan just left my system. or maybe, I deserted it.
And now, when the going gets tough and the tough needs to exercise, my 27, going on 28-year old
body feels like I've NEVER ever taken up any kinds of sports since birth.
what a damn shame, considering its been just about 7-8 years ago that I was at the TOP of my athletic
form, an intervarsity school athlete garbed in the latest sports-branded sponsored kit feeling
oh-so-on-top-of-the-podium, grabbing trophies from all of my individual events - no effin' joke!
WHERE DID THAT GIRL with the abs and oh-so-fit body GO TO?
she must still be in me somewhere. probably submerged within these tubby love handles circling
my expanding waistline.
so yes. from now on, I will try and keep up a daily exercise routine, however simple it may be.
and I will not desert this plan, EVEN after the wedding. heh.
38 days to THE day.
wish me luck with the exercise, people.
